這首《單人牌局》(Solitaire)是木匠兄妹(The Carpenters)比較少為人知的成功單曲，翻唱自另外一位美國歌手Neil Sedaka的同名民謠《Solitaire》。
在這首歌裡面，巧妙的把Solitaire(單人接龍)與同字複義Solitaire(孤獨)結合在一起，利用獨自玩著單人牌局的意象，營造出無愛的孤寂感。透過Karen Carpenter天使般的嗓音，歌詞中的孤寂似乎也穿透了我們的靈魂，喚起我們不可自抑的憂愁感。
